The silly things; Mr. and Mrs.

One of my favorite things about being married is being able to promote it in silly ways... Wearing those adorable "I love my Husband T-Shirts," seeing the bumper of his car decorated with an "I love my Wife" bumper sticker, "His and Hers" towels and such. It's the silly things that make me happy.  One of the most coveted ways I longed to display our His & Hers status are those cute little mugs. You know, the Mr. and Mrs. ones.

I love this idea! Sitting at home, around our cozy dining room table with the hubby, drinking coffee Sunday morning with our babies running around and simply enjoying the little things in life.

I'm a cornball. It's obvious.
But being able to be a cornball with my Mr is what life is all about.  The Dayspring Mr. and Mrs. Collection is one of those rare finds that lets you scream from the rooftops "I am married and I love it" without being extremely cornball-ish.

Seeing as how February is the month of love, Dayspring featured this particular collection as one of their (in)spired deals and I was lucky enough to be able to review this collection.  I got the beautiful set of mugs and a neat Coupon Book to use with the Hubby. 

As usual, Dayspring's products impressed me with their constant reference and grounding in the Word of God.  The mugs came with a beautiful Scripture from Song of Solomon pressed on the inside of the cup, so that even while I'm drinking, I'm meditating on His Word and His love.  The amazing coupon book came with a series of coupons meant to encourage servanthood and selfless love between man and wife, and (of course) Scriptures to meditate upon as these acts of service are being carried out.

back to school with a purpose!

This summer was quite the tennis game in deciding whether to homeschool the Eldest or not.  Being as we have quite the unique scenario, we pretty much decided the week before school started...

Nevertheless, our little Evangelist (because our little one has such a beautiful heart for the lost) was ready to go on August 16th for her very first day of Kindergarten.  We decided on a Christian private school.  But having done so, we knew that not everyone who attends knows Jesus.  So, this past weekend we talked with Daniella and prayed with her.  We reminded her to shine forth the light of the Father so that others might see Jesus.

"But Cole, isn't it a Christian school. Aren't people supposed to know Jesus?" she asks me in all the innocence any human being could posses.

"Yes baby.  But just because they go there doesn't mean they know Jesus.  Just like sometimes people come to Church, but they don't know Jesus.  It's about making choices to love Him, remember?"

A look of sudden understanding bursts forth in her face and suddenly understanding turns into what I'd like to call, godly sorrow.  Her eyes shone with the broken heart from a little girl realizing that it is not Church or Private Christian School that makes her friends Christians, but their choice to love and accept Jesus Christ and His precious gift of salvation. Realizing that some of her new will-be friends may not know Jesus filled her with an eagerness to start the new school year with a purpose: To shine forth the Father's light in good deeds, so that whoever sees it may believe that He is good and that He is God. (based off Matthew 5:16)

Dayspring's Back to School collection was sent for us to review this month.  Turns out the theme for this month has been "Back to school with a purpose." Haha. Isn't God funny.

As usual, Dayspring's products have surpassed quality expectations and absolute adorableness.  We were sent the God Recycles collection and how beautiful it is that we can use this collection as one of those tools for the Eldest to ensure that her light is always shining for Jesus.  We love it!

... as for me and my house

Two wonderful days ago, I finally received the much awaited Urban Soul box that would bring me joy upon opening...

This is the box I've been waiting for! (Thank you leasing office for signing for my fed-ex package and then failing to let me know! grrr)

See, here's the thing. As a homemaker I absolutely, positively love decking out our home in the Word of God. When I read "A Christian Woman's Guide to Hospitality," Quinn Sherrer made a point to exhort godly wives and mothers to decorate their homes with Scripture and other home-decor that will glorify Christ. Honestly, I listened and I definitely wanted to incorporate it...

But I really didn't want my home to look like Grandma's. I love Grandma's house, I appreciate it, but I just don't want that to be my home. Lucky for me, Dayspring has an assortment of amazingly cute home decor and other such items that bring glory to Jesus and look amazing in our home!

To top it all off, this month's theme is one that resonates within my heart. "As for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord." (Josh. 24:15 ) I declare that Scripture prophetically over my home, my husband and my children daily, trusting that His goodness will reach every family member around me.

So, I get the best of both worlds with my new "My Beloved 5x7 Frame!" =) I absolutely love love love the product and can say I will be doing my home-decor shopping from Dayspring from now on. I must say I am very pleased and I cannot wait to fill my frame with a picture of my beloved (our pictures are being printed sometime tonight!)
